In this literature review essay done by Evelyn J. Peters she covers a perspective influencing the call for aboriginal people to have a form of self-government. She states that aboriginal people are a people who inhabitated the land before it was inhabitated by the cultural that dictates its today and that to be considered aboriginal they have to still acquire their old and original customs or languages or etc, hence making it somewhat necessary that the people have their own self-government.

What is the purpose of this article?
The purpose of this article is to show examples and clauses that help show the need by some for a self-government concerning aboriginal people. It is an informative essay showing people the side for aboriginal people in their defense.
What violations of 'Critical thinking', if any, exists in this article?
I would have to say that if there were any violations of critical thinking in this article it would probably be considering other interpretations. I feel that the paper was pretty one-sided when concerning the issue of aboriginal people wanting to establish a self-government.

Hi Kale,
ReplyDeleteDo you think that the person who wrote the article was functioning as a "spokesperson" for a group of people, as opposed to being an objective researcher?
